What is a Prairie Diamond?
A couple of hundreds of years ago, during the westward expansion of the United States, people often led hard, necessarily frugal lives. Young newlyweds in the new western areas did not have a jewelry store in every strip mall. So, the new bride would often find her finger adorned with a well wrought wedding ring of steel the local Blacksmith would twist from a horseshoe nail.
This is the idea behind the craftsmanship, artwork, and beauty that we encourage. We encourage inventive treasures, items of beauty crafted from the ordinary that we hope will be valued for a lifetime.
Spring Approaches!
We are in a time of change at The PDTC. We've used our extra time this past year to train, learn, and grow. We will continue to do so into 2021, and far beyond. As part of these changes we are restricting the Blacksmith Forge to commissioned pieces only for the foreseeable future.
In every life, some rain must fall. This simple, handcrafted heart, forged from a steel spike, represents the transformation of the human experience. The spikes of pain, hurt, betrayal, famine, or any of the other harships of life that nail us down, and keep us stuck in the past... have been transformed into a symbol of love, and caring.
A portion of the proceeds from all sales of this item will be used to help veterans deal with past pain via donations to Save A Warrior, a unique, intense, and extremely effective treatment program that has already helped thousands.
